Globalize Your Portfolio Campaign
This unique storytelling experience extends key campaign messaging to digital, and allows users to explore the world for global investing opportunities. We used bite-sized amounts of content to tease investment ideas that ultimately connected to our products. My role in this project was Creative Director, UX & UI designer, and interaction designer.
Sketches, Concepts, and UX Challenges
We were challenged to create a simple and streamlined experience that extended themes from our ad campaign and funneled users to products. Working through legal and compliance guidelines was especially challenging due to the inclusion of financial products. The lengthy legal disclosures that were required can detract from the content, design, and user-journey. These early sketches show some of the concepts for story layout, Top 10 Holdings information, and location popup details that allowed us to minimize clutter, optimize navigation, and still adhere to legal requirements.
UI and Creative Decisions
This project needed a premium design that was closely tied to the "Challenge" campaign being run by our Brand & Advertising team. We experimented with several different design themes, but ultimately landed on a 3D, natural looking globe on a black background. We had to weigh issues of accessibility and legibility versus what felt most natural with the globe, the ad campagn, and our overall brand styles.
Interaction and Animation
Using the globe as part of the interaction was an essential part of this project. The globe is used as a guide to show users what part of the world a story is referencing. It is also a functional navigation element that user's can tap, spin, and interact with. We used the globe as a transitional element, swiping across the screen to alert the user when they were changing sections or modes. Additionally, as a lead into each story, we created introductory vignettes that allude to the theme or location of the piece while also adding hints of color and movement.
